Disneyland is currently celebrating its 50th anniversary, making a vacation there even more magical--if that's possible. Anaheim, home to Disneyland in California, also offers sporting venues such as the home of the Angels baseball team and the Mighty Ducks hockey team. For families and visitors that want to make the most of an extended Southern California vacation though, staying outside the immediate Disneyland area may make the vacation more affordable--and more fun.
Southern California offers a wealth of attractions outside the Disneyland area. Weather in Orange County also tends to be bit balmier and more pleasant closer to the coast, particularly in the summer. Renting a vacation home or condo in the Orange County/Southern California area directly from the owner can be a good value.
Vacation homes in Southern California tend to be spectacular, many of them with awe-inspiring ocean views.
